POLICY & Legislative Work

Texas Water Association is committed to advancing sound water policy for Texas and serving as a trusted resource on statewide water issues. TWA staff engages at the Capitol and with related agencies to build relationships and advocate on behalf of member interests and consensus water positions.

Through our work at the Capitol, we engage with legislators and policymakers to:

• Build consensus on water policy issues through our legislative committee
• Educate policymakers about water policy issues and member interests
• Advocate on consensus water positions
• Testify on behalf of member interests
• Monitor developments at the Texas Legislature
• Provide analysis on legislation significant to members
• Submit comment letters to state and federal agencies
• File legal briefs in state court and agency proceedings
