Before booking your room, please read our updated Hotel Policies hereAs it relates to this event, individuals with reservations in the TWA Room Block must be registered for the conference by May 18. Additionally, any excess or unneeded hotel rooms must be turned in to Lindsey Ford by June 10. As always, please do not cancel hotel rooms directly with the hotel.

AGENCY UPDATES

APPLICATION PERIOD FOR WATER SUPPLY AND INFRASTRUCTURE GRANTS NOW OPEN. TWDB is accepting applications for about $1 billion in Water Supply and Infrastructure Grants (WSIG), funded by HB 500The WSIG opportunity provides 100 percent grant funding for eligible water supply and water infrastructure projects, and applications are due by July 30Find application details and links to application webinars (April 23 and May 13) on the WSIG webpage.

PROVISIONAL MAPS OF FLASH-FLOOD PRONE AREAS. TWDB has approved provisional maps identifying areas within the 30 counties affected by SB 3 that are at risk of flash flooding and may require the installation of outdoor warning sirens. Affected counties can request revisions to the identified areas and use the online mapping tool to help determine whether outdoor warning siren systems are warranted. DATA CENTER SURVEY. The National Waterways Conference (NWC) is conducting a survey to better understand the water resource implications of data centers. The survey is open through April 18 to water suppliers, utilities, agencies, and those with water resource concerns. Texas results will be shared with TWA. Find the survey here.

CYBERSECURITY ALERT. In light of the conflict in the Middle East, the FBI, CISA, NSA, and EPA are warning of ongoing cyber exploitation targeting internet-connected systems across U.S. critical infrastructure sectors. Water and wastewater systems are encouraged to review and implement the recommendations and follow-up steps to prevent attacks and strengthen their cybersecurity efforts. WATERSMART LARGE-SCALE WATER RECYCLING PROJECTS. The Bureau of Reclamation has opened a funding opportunity for the planning, design, or construction of large-scale water recycling projects. Feasibility studies are due by April 13, and applications are due by May 13. WATERSMART APPLIED SCIENCE GRANTS WEBINAR. The Bureau of Reclamation will host a webinar on Tuesday, April 28, to discuss the Applied Science Grants Notice of Funding Opportunity, including eligibility, project types, program requirements, and evaluation criteria. These emails are often from an external domain and made to look like they come from a legitimate organization. As always, please check the originating address before responding to or clicking links in an unexpected or unusual email.
